Description
Luther Campbell and the 2 Live Crew were pioneers of southern Hip-Hop with their Miami Bass sound. In 1989 they releeased their third studio album As Nasty As They Wanna Be and it stirred up controversy nation wide. This is the first music album to be deemed legally obscene and record store owners were arrested for selling it. The 2 Live Crew went to court and won in a landmark case which overturned the original ruling, a big win over censorship.
