Description

Gregory Isaacs, born in Jamaica in 1951, began recording music as a teen and co-founded the African Museum label in the early 1970s. His first major hit, "My Only Lover," is often cited as the first lovers’ rock track. This collection highlights his peak years, featuring hits like "All I Have Is Love," "Black A Kill Black," "Sinner Man," and "Slave Master," produced by reggae legends such as Alvin Ranglin and Lee “Scratch” Perry.

Isaacs rose to international fame by the late '70s and helped shape the future of dancehall. His 1982 hit "Night Nurse" became a crossover success and was later covered by Simply Red. He remained active for decades, earning a Grammy nomination in 2008. This compilation captures the essence of one of reggae’s smoothest and most influential voices.
