In Our Lifetime is a classic album from Memphis legends Eightball & MJG, released in 1999. A cornerstone of Southern hip-hop, it blends sharp storytelling, raw street realism, and deep Southern funk grooves. With booming basslines and cinematic production by T-Mix, the album captures the atmosphere and daily realities of Memphis streets in the late ’90s.
Upon release, the album charted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold, confirming the duo’s lasting influence on American hip-hop. It marked a major turning point for the Dirty South, helping establish Memphis as a key rap stronghold alongside Atlanta, Houston, and New Orleans.
The featured artists further elevate the project, with appearances from CeeLo Green, Outkast, Big Duke, Nina Creque, and Thorough, connecting multiple Southern scenes and expanding the album’s reach beyond Memphis. These collaborations played a major role in the duo’s national recognition and in shaping the Southern rap sound of the era.
For the very first time, HCR partners with Suave House to release this American rap classic on vinyl, in a limited edition of 500 mystery colored vinyl, exact vinyl colors are unknown and will only be revealed upon opening. Multiple unique variants may appear, making every copy truly one of a kind.
