Twenty years after its original release, The Gatalog by Celph Titled finally makes its vinyl debut through a partnership between Demigodz Enterprises and Coalmine Reissues. Arriving Friday, October 23rd, the day before the album’s 20th anniversary, Vol. 1 launches a four-volume series, each presented as a 2×LP.
Originally assembled as a sprawling collection of underground singles, collaborations, and unreleased material, The Gatalog captured the formative years of one of hip-hop’s most distinctive voices. Celph’s outrageous punchlines, wicked humor, and commanding delivery made it an essential document of his rise through the independent scene.
Across 18 tracks, Vol. 1 delivers an introduction to that legacy. Opener “Primo’s Four Course Meal” finds Celph barreling through a medley of Premier beats with reckless abandon before the crowd favorite “Playin’ With Fire” brings Styles of Beyond and Apathy into the fray. The heavy-hitting “Rock (Remix)” unites Louis Logic, Lexicon, J Zone, and Ryu, while additional appearances include Esoteric, Lord Digga, Oktober, Dutchmassive, and Majik Most.
Production from J-Zone, Apathy, Kno of CunninLynguists, Mike Shinoda, and Celph himself gives the volume its range, from “Spoiled Rotten” and “Clap” to “The Battle (Extended Mix).” Collectors can ultimately house the complete series in a dedicated box, available to order alongside the Vol. 4 pre-order. This first installment begins a long-awaited celebration of Celph’s catalog, brought to vinyl by Coalmine Reissues, where every detail matters.
