DJ Spanish Fly is known as the Godfather of Memphis Rap. He started DJing in the 1980s and began introducing up-and-coming Memphis rappers in the late 80s into the 90s via his mixtapes. He also produced original songs that became popular in the Memphis club scene. One of the more popular underground favorites was "Gangsta Walk" which spawned a style of dance known as jookin. This collection of songs was originally recorded and distributed via cassette and then released on CD in 2001 and now available to spin on vinyl.
